This panini recipe is so easy and features gooey melted cheese and crisp apple slices. Plus, you can make it in under 10 minutes! The apple gives it a great crunch, and all the flavors meld together perfectly. It sandwich takes grilled cheese to the next level!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices Whole Grain Bread

  • 2 slices While American Cheese

  • 3 slices Oven Roasted Turkey Breast

  • 4 sices Fresh Apple

  • .6 oz Oil Spray

  • 1 oz Fresh Baby Spinach

Directions

  • Set a skillet over medium heat. Coat the skillet with pan spray and wilt the spinach. Set aside. Spray each slice of bread liberally with butter pan spray.
  • Place three pieces of bread, oil spray side down, into the hot skillet. Top with 3 pieces of turkey, 2 slices of white American cheese , wilted spinach and 4 apple slices.
  • Cook until the edges of the bread are crispy and the cheese starts to melt ( about 3 minutes). Top with another piece of bread, oil side up. Carefully flip the sandwich so the non-toasted side is now down. Cook for another 3 – 4 minutes, or until the rest of the cheese melts.

  • Food prep areas, Equipment, and utensils, to be used in recipe will be washed and sanitized prior to beginning the preparation and cooking.
  • Assemble all ingredients, utensils, etc. to be used in recipe within easy reach of prep area so that food safety can be managed more effectively as well as better control of contamination and cross contamination.
  • Remove frozen product from freezer using oldest pack date first.
  • CCP: Take and record on a temperature log all beginning temperatures of refrigerated foods before beginning the recipe.
  • Wash hands thoroughly before handling food, after handling contaminated food or objects, and before switching to another step where there is an opportunity for contamination. This applies as well to before and after glove use.
  • Use clean pair of gloves when handling raw product. Replace gloves after handling any other object.
